Renault Rafale

Renault's first D-segment coupe suv, Rafale is based on the Cmf C/D platform and a long list of components shared with the Austral and Espace. Moving on to the dimensions of the Renault Rafale, length comes to 4.71 metres, height stops at 1.61 metres, width is 1.86 metres (with a track 4 cm wider than the Espace) and the wheelbase is 2.74 metres. Getting on board we find the dashboard already appreciated on the Austral and Espace, starting with the large 12-inch central touchscreen from which to manage the OpenR link infotainment system with apps and Google navigation. New, on the other hand, are the front seats with greater containment and an illuminated A on the Alpine version. The Rafale is powered by a 3-cylinder 1.2-litre, 130 hp petrol engine combined with two electric motors. The main one delivers 50 kW equivalent to 70 hp, with torque of up to 205 Nm. Its operation is ensured by a 2 kWh/400V lithium-ion battery. The second of the two electric motors is a 25 kW HSG (High-voltage Starter Generator) type with a torque of 50 Nm and is responsible for starting the heat engine and also for shifting gears in the clutchless toothless transmission. Alternatively, a 300-horsepower 4x4 plug-in version is available.
