Stellantis: talks with Chinese firms Huawei and Jac Group regarding a partnership involving Maserati

Stellantis is in talks with the Chinese companies Huawei and Jac Group regarding a long-term industrial partnership for the luxury brand Maserati, which is currently experiencing difficulties. This is according to Reuters, which notes that the CEO of the Italian-French automotive group, Antonio Filosa, had said in recent months that he was working on further production partnerships, including for Maserati, and that agreements of this kind are a fundamental pillar of the group’s new long-term strategy.

According to observers, a deal for Maserati could have a positive impact on production rates at the Cassino and Modena plants in Italia, where the brand’s models are manufactured. Maserati, which delivered fewer than 8,000 cars last year, is expected to present its long-term strategy in December. A spokesperson for Stellantis has stated that, as part of normal business operations, the company holds discussions with various industry players worldwide on a range of topics, “always with the ultimate aim of offering customers the best mobility options”. During 2026, Filosa announced production partnership agreements, including those with the Chinese groups Leapmotor and Dongfeng, as part of a €60 billion strategic plan running until 2030.
