Verstappen, who reached 70 victories at Losail, is already in motorsport history, but this world title would take him into legend. The Dutchman, born in 1997, was born in Formula 1: his father Jos raced for eight seasons in the premier class and young Max grew up on karts, often together with the Schumacher family.

His debut at only 17 years of age in Toro Rosso testifies to the talent and impetus of a boy who could not wait. Immediately competitive, but with his behaviour on the track often over the top, "Mad Max" quickly achieved almost all records of precocity, such as that of the youngest winner of a Grand Prix, at just 18 years and 7 months, in the first race run with Red Bull. A successful partnership that has lasted for ten seasons.

Verstappen is now aiming for his fifth world championship in a row in Abu Dhabi, where his streak began in 2021. That race is in fact one of the most unforgettable in Formula One history, with Lewis Hamilton losing his eighth title due to a Safety Car finish controversially managed by then Race Director Michael Masi, later removed from office. In that world championship Verstappen was the prey, this year he is the hunter: will he be able to make up the 12-point gap to his rival?
