Tasca d'Almerita has announced that it has reached an agreement for the sale of the 'Capofaro' resort on the island of Salina in the Aeolian archipelago. This marks the start of a new development phase for the wine group. After more than 20 years, the Salina relais will pass to a new owner, while the vineyards and Aeolian production will remain under the management of the Tasca family, with new projects for growth.

Acquired in 2001, thanks to an intuition of the Tasca family on the potential of Malvasia delle Lipari, "Capofaro Locanda & Malvasia" has established itself as a wine retreat of excellence and the only Aeolian residence to be part of the Relais & Chateaux circuit. At the basis of the project, an original connection between wine, the Aeolian Malvasia, and high hospitality.

During its two decades of activity, Tasca d'Almerita has pursued the objective of positioning Salina and the Aeolian islands as a high-profile tourist destination. A mission dictated by choices of sustainability: the islands of the Aeolian archipelago are small in size and therefore have limited accommodation availability. 'Keeping tourist flows limited,' explain the company, 'was the only way to protect such a precious habitat. At the same time, connecting leisure activities to the world of wine made it possible to enhance and relaunch a historical vocation of the Aeolian Islands, stimulating an important economic and social flywheel for the entire archipelago'.

"Capofaro has thus become the first 5-star boutique hotel in the Aeolian Islands," recalled Alberto Tasca. "We began by studying the local vineyard and its peculiarities, recovering and regenerating its historical part. Over the years, we have also restored the fishing village and breathed new life into one of the most important lighthouses in the Mediterranean. Today we are leaving the accommodation "Capofaro Locanda & Malvasia", a name chosen to emphasise the spontaneous and authentic style of hospitality, but we continue to look after the spectacular vineyards overlooking the Aeolian sea that give rise to Capofaro, Didyme, and Vigna di Paola the sweet and dry versions of Malvasia".

The sale of the hotel is part of a wider framework of reorganisation and specialisation of the group. Among the innovations announced is an expansion of the team, with the involvement of new key figures. Starting with the commercial management, which is entrusted to Leonardo Vallone "and who," reads a company note, "will work to consolidate and increase the brand's presence in the various markets, addressing the phenomena of change and diversification of consumption that are crossing the entire international scenario.
