We said it and repeated it: this is the year of Lucio Corsi. The confirmation, if it was needed after the surprising second place at Sanremo, the fifth place at Eurovision Song Contest and the average monthly ratings on Spotify that now hover around 2 million, comes from the Premio Tenco that has just announced the winners of the Targhe Tenco 2025: Volevo essere un duro is the best album, the title track is the best song. Funny detail: the album released by Sugar Music had not even been nominated, but imposed itself 'from below', through the votes cast by the jury composed of journalists and industry experts.
And the affirmation in the 'cantuatoral' elite, if you like, is the one most in line with the offerings of the Maremma artist who in the past few years has given us gems such as Bestiario Musicale (2017) and What will we do when we grow up? (2020). To the indifference of most. Also very welcome is the affirmation of the Sicilian singer-songwriter Anna Castiglia, another old acquaintance of "Money, it's a gas!" and "Three easy pieces", for best first work with the album I like it.
Best album in dialect is Furèsta by La Niña, made in Neapolitan. Best performer album is Kaleidoscope by Ginevra Di Marco, memorable chanteuse of the CSI, while best project album is Pagani per Pagani produced by Caroline Pagani as a tribute to her brother Herbert Pagani, who passed away in 1988.
Record result in the ballot phase, with 241 voters participating. The Targhe Tenco award has been awarded since 1984 to the best songwriter records of the year published during the year (i.e. made available in any way to the public, in this case, from 1 June 2024 to 31 May 2025). The works of the artists nominated for the Targhe are voted by a jury of experts, journalists and insiders chosen by Club Tenco, who cast their votes in the manner and within the timeframe communicated to the jurors by the Association. The Board of Club Tenco is not part of the jury. The 2025 edition of the award will be held on 23, 24 and 25 October at Sanremo's Teatro Ariston.
