From the Twin Towers to Nice and Paris, the worst attacks of the new millennium

The one at Bondi Beach, Sydney, Australia is only the latest in a series of bloody and heinous attacks that have characterised the new millennium. Starting with the most sensational one: the attack on the Twin Towers in New York on 11 September 2001. In between were other massacres that shocked the western world in particular: the double attack in Paris in 2015 and the one in Nice, on the evening of 14 July, with the massacre on the Promenade des Anglais.
