Card 'Dedicated to you': Inps instructions for the purchase of groceries

The Inps instructions have arrived on the card 'Dedicated to you', the measure introduced by the Meloni government a couple of years ago for the purchase of basic foodstuffs by households in economic difficulty.

For this year, the financial endowment has been increased by 500 million (2025 manoeuvre), with the resources specifically earmarked for the purchase of essential foodstuffs only, excluding all types of alcoholic beverages.

The beneficiaries of the measure, who do not have to submit an application, are, pursuant to Article 2 of the interministerial decree of 12 August, citizens belonging to households, resident in the Italian territory, who, as of 12 August 2025, meet the following requirements: registration of all the members of the household in the Register of the Resident Population (Anagrafe della Popolazione Residente - Municipal Register); and an ordinary Isee not exceeding 15,000 euro. The grant is not available to households that include recipients of: inclusion allowance, citizenship income, Carta acquisti or any other social inclusion or poverty support measure that provides for the payment of an economic subsidy at national, regional or municipal level. In addition, the grant is not available to households in which at least one member is in receipt of unemployment benefit or CIG.

The measure consists of an economic contribution per household totalling 500 euros, disbursed through nominative, prepaid and rechargeable electronic payment cards made available by Poste Italiane S.p.A. through its subsidiary Postepay. The cards, available in a total number of 1,157,179, are delivered to those entitled to them at post offices enabled to provide the service. The contribution, as mentioned, is intended for the purchase of essential foodstuffs.

The first payment must be made no later than 16 December 2025, otherwise the benefit is forfeited. The sums must also be fully utilised by 28 February 2026 at the latest.
