Arles 2026: the new frontier of contemporary art

A short distance from the mysticism of the Saintes-Maries, Arles confirms itself in 2026 as one of Europe's most dynamic cultural laboratories. The city, already famous for its light that bewitched Van Gogh, is inaugurating new spaces that will redesign its creative skyline. In the heart of the Roquette district, the old Sainte-Croix church is reborn as the headquarters of the Bustamante Foundation. Thanks to the intervention of architect Charles Zana, this historic building has been transformed into an avant-garde centre on three levels where painting and sculpture dialogue with video installations and masterclasses of international level. But Arles does not stop here: in July, the city will host the 2026 edition of 74th Arts, an itinerant and immersive art fair that, after stops in Singapore and Aspen, has chosen 'Little Rome' for an exhibition dedicated to women artists, creating a bridge between the global market and the sensitivity of the Provence region.
