All the flavour of an Easter among the treasures of Naples

11/11Weekend

At the Vomero for Gorizia's square and Varriale's zeppole

Le uova alla Fabbrica di cioccolato Gay Odin al Vomero

The Chiaia funicular railway allows a romantic and fast ascent to the scenic Vomero district where, in addition to visiting Castel S. Elmo and the Certosa di San Martino and then descending via the scenic and steep Scalinata della Pedamentina, one can have a truly mouth-watering gastronomic experience, especially on Easter days. Right in front of the Cimarosa station, for example, are the tables of the Pizzeria Gorizia opened in 1916, where you can eat the margherita and its unsurpassed Genovese. For dessert, you move only a few steps to Piazza Vanvitelli: Salvatore Varriale churns out absolutely irresistible stuffed zeppole in his pastry shop. For coffee, you walk as far as the Chiostro di San Francesco to drink the first one in the courtyard and the second one on the outdoor tables overlooking the island of Capri, which appears on the horizon quite clearly. And if you just don't want to give up chocolate eggs, well, in nearby Via Cilea, at number 189, you will be delighted by the goodness of the decorated ones at the Gay-Odin pastry shop.
