The new Borghi di Ponente ready for debut
Deer and the naturalistic treasure of the Ciapà Municipal Park
Cervo is the home of artists, musicians and men of letters. They have passed through here from Carlo Levi to Norberto Bobbio, from Felice and Francesco Casorati to Piero Martina, up to Carmelina Piccolis and Gina Lagorio, to name but a few. A culture that comes to invade the surrounding municipalities, in some cases literally, as with Cervo in Blu d'Inchiostro, the annual review that in the 2025 edition counts no less than 31 literary encounters between Cervo, Imperia, Sanremo, Pieve di Teco, Perno di Monforte d'Alba, even going beyond national borders and landing in France (Nice, Le Rouret) and Lithuania (Vilnius). From the memory of Italo Calvino, on the fortieth anniversary of the death of the author of 'If One Winter's Night a Traveller', to the 100th birthday of a pioneer of avant-garde music and electronics such as Luciano Berio, passing through family gatherings. Here you can combine the pleasure of art with that of nature. Located behind the charming medieval village of Cervo, the Ciapà Municipal Park is in fact a natural setting of extraordinary beauty, ideal for immersing oneself in nature and discovering an area rich in biodiversity. Covering an area of 30,000 square metres, the park is a true paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, offering breathtaking views and a unique experience in contact with the environment. The hills surrounding Cervo are characterised by thousand-year-old terraces, the result of the unceasing work of generations that have transformed a rugged terrain into an ideal place for olive cultivation. The silvery colour of the olive trees gradually gives way to lush Mediterranean scrub and pine forests, creating a unique natural mosaic. The quiet paths through this area lead to historic ruins and offer ever-changing panoramic views. Here you can stay overnight at the Eco del mare, which offers charming rooms with private terraces overlooking the sea and breakfast service, and then enjoy dishes from the Taverna Mandragola, which offers menus of authentic Ligurian tradition
