The new Borghi di Ponente ready for debut

by Laura Dominici

Cervo, Diano Arentino and Villa Faraldi, in the province of Imperia, are the municipalities that have united under the name Borghi di Ponente (Western Villages), stone streets that embrace the sea and that have inspired and continue to tickle the creativity of dozens of artists from the most disparate fields every year. From chamber music, which has one of the main international festivals in Cervo, to the restless and ungovernable jazz at home on the trekking paths of Diano Arentino, passing through the legacy of the great 20th century painters from Turin in Cervo and that of the Norwegian sculptor Fritz Røed at Villa Faraldi, founder of a Scandinavian colony that is still active today, to the stations of the cross created by contemporary artists for the 11th century church of Sant'Antonino in Diano Arentino: are the artistic expressions of these Ligurian territories. A cultural spirit that unites these three realities, which in the coming months will host numerous events capable of narrating the territory, each in its own way
