Urgent recall of eggs contaminated with salmonella: Delizie del Sole, Aia and Selex batches withdrawn from supermarkets
The Department of Health has issued a warning about the risk of salmonella in a batch of fresh free-range eggs, urging consumers not to eat them and to return them.
A batch of fresh free-range eggs under the Delizie del Sole brand, , sold in Eurospin supermarkets, has been recalled by the manufacturer due to a microbiological risk caused by the presence of Salmonella enteritidis.
The Department of Health has issued this warning in the relevant section of its website, advising consumers not to consume the product but to return it to the shop where it was purchased
The recalled product is sold in 6-egg cartons, with batch number 1IT040VR006 and a use-by date of 04/08/2026 (however, the notice was only published on the website today).
It is produced by Agricola TreValli Società Cooperativa (Aia-Veronesi Group) at its factory in Caselle di Sommacampagna, in the province of Verona.
The free-range eggs recalled under a recall notice issued on 27 July, which concerned the Aia brand – with two notices for packs of 220 and 330 gram - and those recalled following the notice published on 31 July for eggs under the brand Selex (pack of 6 eggs).
