Thrills amongst the peaks of the Rocky Mountains
The very name ‘Passage to the Peaks’ is highly evocative of the breathtaking wonders that can be admired and experienced whilst travelling by train from Jasper to Banff in the Canadian Rockies. Travelling between Alberta and British Columbia aboard the Rocky Mountaineer trains, you can enjoy panoramic viewing platforms and a slow, contemplative pace, whilst sampling local produce prepared on local farms. From these carriages with their glass domes, you can watch in awe as rivers meander through the woods, appearing and disappearing from view, and stop off on excursions to the edges of waterfalls and lakes, whilst rocky mountain ranges with rugged, jagged ridges line the route, which reaches its highest points at the Spiral Tunnels. Mount Robson, too, at an altitude of 3,954 metres, commands the utmost respect.
