The fairytale setting of Lake Louise

Among the highlights of the route, Lake Louise is undoubtedly the one that sparkles with the most vibrant hues, as the waters of this lake are truly turquoise and the mountain peaks are reflected in them, creating a truly delightful sight. You can also opt for a more adventurous approach, paddling out to the centre of this lake in one of the traditional, eye-catching red canoes available for hire. The water temperature, however, is freezing, so taking a dip in the lake is hardly advisable. It’s better to set off on foot along one of the well-marked trails that wind their way from its shores, starting with the easy path that runs alongside the lake: not least because you’ll come across waterfalls and streams with shades of blue. Here in winter, you find yourself immersed in a fairytale setting where the surface of Lake Louise freezes over and cross-country skiers can glide around its perimeter, whilst climbers scale the ice walls and the more romantic visitors reach it by horse-drawn sleigh, just as skaters put on elegant displays, pirouetting on the ice that will never let any visitor down. Now, however, is the season for wildflowers.
