Thrills amongst the peaks of the Rocky Mountains
The unrivalled night sky in Jasper National Park
Jasper National Park is renowned for having the starriest sky on Earth. During the day, within this nature reserve established in 1907, you can set out to explore the most spectacular hiking trails, such as the path to Maligne Lake, the trail leading to the Geraldine Lakes, or the route to the Miette Hot Springs (the Pyramid Trail is also an excellent route for spotting wildlife, particularly moose with their branched antlers, and Canadian flora, especially if you choose the Cottonwood Creek Loop or the Patricia Lake Loop, as well as the equally well-signposted Mina-Riley Lakes Loop). As evening falls, those who have opted to camp – the Canada Strong Pass grants access to many equipped campsites – will be truly enchanted by the clarity of the virtually unspoilt night sky. The spectacle of the stars can also be fully enjoyed whilst staying at the Glacier View Lodge, where the rooms and lobby look out through huge windows onto the glaciers, or at the Pyramid Lake Lodge, built entirely of timber and nestled in the woods.
