From Apulia to Basilicata along the ancient aqueduct
Another cycle path in pink is that of the Apulian Aqueduct, considered the most fascinating greenway in southern Italia and about to reach a total of 192 kilometres of equipped route by the end of 2026. On this itinerary, one out of every five cycle tourists (22%) is a woman and you cycle on protected roads through nature and local culture among dry stone walls, trulli and centuries-old olive trees, following the service road of the main aqueduct canal, crossing the Val d'Itria between Cisternino, Ceglie Messapica and Martina Franca, waiting to arrive by the end of the year in the Murgia Gioiese area, in the Bari area (Bitonto) and on the Swabian coast, in the villages of Castel del Monte and Spinazzola on the border with Basilicata.
