8 NOVEMBER - The appeal trial begins in Milan. The public prosecutor Laura Barbaini is asking for 30 years for Stasi, while the defence is still relying on the lack of evidence.

6 DECEMBER - Stasi was again acquitted by the Court of Appeal, which held that 'the first instance decision is free from defects and deserves to be confirmed'.
