How to get there and get around on your own

There are several options for travelling to the Dominican Republic from Italy. On arrival in the capital, you can hire a car and take the modern motorway, which crosses the island in just over two hours to the Samaná Peninsula, whilst offering maximum flexibility to explore secluded beaches and off-the-beaten-track trails.
