Indigo sea at the lava Ballata dei Turchi
Well, King George here was a prince beloved by the entire population, who were also always grateful to him for the innumerable charitable works carried out silently, without giving them publicity, such as the donations of state-of-the-art machines for treatment and prevention destined for the local hospital. By boat and jeep, the designer loved to circumnavigate the island to appreciate the turquoise sea, each time impressed by the wild beauty of the Ballata dei Turchi, an unsurpassed emblem of Pantelleria's orography: this crust of rock forms an involuntary flight of steps of lava origin hidden from view by the dense Mediterranean vegetation that surrounds it, where obsidian was once quarried.
