Merano. Palace Merano: 120 years of innovation
From a historic hotel to Italia’s first medical spa, a pioneer in recognising the potential of the detox approach, transforming the concepts of health and wellbeing into a profound experience capable of regenerating you from within. Founded in 1906, its design was inspired from the very beginning by the grand hotels of European capitals: built in just over a year and a half, despite its 76 metres in length and 27 metres in height, Palace Merano immediately attracted figures of the calibre of Thomas Mann and Franz Kafka, who appreciated its elegance and hospitality. Conceived from the outset as an international grand hotel, it has spanned over a century of history, gradually evolving its identity to become one of the most influential landmarks on the international wellness and longevity scene today. In 2000, the Bolzano-based entrepreneur Pietro Tosolini purchased the historic building and embarked on a major refurbishment to transform it into the renowned medical spa it is today. A long-standing guardian of the idea of beauty as a core value, – as evidenced by the large painting ‘Homage to Beauty’ depicting Aphrodite, which has been an integral part of the venue’s visual identity for over a century – Palace Merano has, over the years, transformed this aesthetic ideal into a deeper and more contemporary vision, linked to preventative health, detoxification, physical and mental balance, energy restoration and quality of life, within a constant dialogue between tradition and innovation: on the one hand, the elegance of the historic residence has been preserved; on the other, the emblem of the establishment is the its Revital Method, which blends functional medicine, allopathic medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine, combining scientifically advanced programmes, cutting-edge technologies and a contemporary medical vision. To celebrate this important anniversary, Palace Merano is offering a number of “special” programmes until 31 December, designed to introduce guests to the Revital® Method through packages that combine accommodation, treatments, medical consultation and wellness activities into a single, coherent and personalised experience.
