Dining inside a museum is no longer a mere whim: it has become an experience that unites two universal languages, that of beauty and that of taste. Museums find in fine dining a way to enrich their offerings; chefs gain extraordinary settings to express themselves; the public has the opportunity to prolong the enchantment of the visit in front of a dish designed with the same care as a work of art.
That is why it is becoming increasingly common to find chefs opening in museums and places of pure beauty all over the world, including in Italy. And according to rumours, even the Uffizi in Florence will soon have a restaurant, confirming a trend that does not seem destined to slow down.
Enrico Bartolini at Mudec
Andrea Aprea and The Luigi Rovati Foundation
Also in Milan, in Corso Venezia, the Fondazione Luigi Rovati has brought a historic building back to life thanks to Mario Cucinella's project. Between an Etruscan hypogeum and rooms dedicated to contemporary art, on the top floor is Andrea Aprea's restaurant. The rooms designed by Flaviano Capriotti frame a refined cuisine that has already won the Michelin (two stars), confirming Milan as a laboratory of excellence for the dialogue between art and gastronomy.
Gucci Osteria
In Florence's Piazza della Signoria, Gucci Osteria was born in continuity with the maison's museum, under the supervision of Massimo Bottura and with the confident guidance of Karime Lopez, capable of fusing the brand's typical luxury of fashion, tradition and creativity. Recently joined by the new co-executive chef Takahiko Kondo.
