Roborock Saros Rover: wheels and legs to clean every floor in the house

Among the many smart home solutions for cleaning, attention was focused primarily on the new generations of robot vacuum cleaners, and the European launch of the Roborock Saros Rover – following its global debut at CES – was one of the most significant new developments. This futuristic device is equipped with a hybrid wheel-leg architecture comprising two independent mechanical limbs capable of extending and lifting to tackle stairs, changes in level and uneven surfaces. The robot uses motion sensors, LiDAR and 3D scanning to recognise the layout of its surroundings and proceeds step by step, stopping to clean each surface before moving on. It can also handle curved staircases and, when descending, adjust its posture to maintain balance on two wheels. The system adjusts its speed and position to maintain stability and can lower its legs autonomously and make small leaps, replicating in some ways the dynamics of human movement. (G.Rus)
