US bases in Sardinia

In Sardinia, the Quirra and Capo Teulada polygons are often used by US and NATO forces for military exercises and missile tests, even though the facilities are Italian. Although they are not permanent US bases, their availability and size make them important assets for joint training and testing of new weapon systems.
