In Chiclayo in the footsteps of Papa Prevost

The seven natural pools of the Jagüeyes de Mayascon

Le piscine de Los jagüeyes de Mayascon

Also worth experiencing are Los jagüeyes de Mayascon, seven natural pools of crystal-clear turquoise water, which follow one after the other and change colour continuously reflecting the movements of the clouds, located less than two hours north of Chiclayo. The arrival requires a little adventure, not always within everyone's reach: one must, in fact, cross the forest and then climb - even taking children with one - on the rocks using ladders made of planks and ropes. Fed by waterfalls emerging from the rocks, they boast calm, clear water in which it is pleasant to swim. Back in Lambayeque, it is undoubtedly interesting to visit the Museo Arqueológico Nacional Brüning because it holds one of the most extensive collections in all of Peru, collected by the indefatigable finder of artefacts that was Enrique Brüning during forty years of incessant scouting in the north of the South American country. The 1,400 vestiges relate to the Moche, Chavín, Inca and Vicús civilisations and some are over 10,000 years old.
