Loro Piceno and Urbisaglia, between cooked wine culture and archaeology

Urbisaglia, Anfiteatro Romano

Two other villages touched by the Fiastra Valley Ring and worthy of attention are Loro Piceno and Urbisaglia. The former has built its identity strongly linked to the wine and food tradition around vino cotto, a product that is a symbol of the territory and to which a museum is dedicated that recounts an ancient practice that is still alive. The historic centre of the village, overlooked by Brunforte Castle, offers itineraries and panoramic views looking towards the Sibillini Mountains, while several local wine cellars open their doors to visitors and tourists for tastings and visits that allow direct contact with the area's production. A short distance away, less than ten minutes by car, is Urbisaglia, a medieval village dominated by the fortified fortress and whose main attraction is the Urbs Salvia Archaeological Park, which preserves important evidence of the Roman age, from the amphitheatre to the cryptoporticus.
