Turin: Green Unveiled

The Festival del Verde (www.festivalverde.it) gets into full swing on 9 and 10 May with the weekend of Verde Svelato, the event that invites the public to discover the city's 'secret gardens'. The 2026 edition opens the doors of the most exclusive and fascinating green spaces in and around Turin, with more than 40 locations all to be explored, also thanks to exceptional openings and guided tours. Among the most exclusive locations is Villa Rignon, a green treasure chest hidden in the heart of Crocetta where monumental trees, native species and ornamental varieties grow, reflecting the aesthetics of the aristocratic garden between the 18th and early 20th century. Villa Fubini, with its curvilinear heart-shaped flowerbeds, offers a privileged vantage point on the transformations of the Piedmontese garden between the 18th and 19th centuries. And again, the Vigna del Merlo, whose garden boasts the signatures of the famous landscape architects Pietro Porcinai and Paolo Peyrone. And then also: Barriera Green Hub - Plant Center, a place with a stratified history from which Turin's evolution over the last century emerges; the Fondazione Chierese per il Tessile, a space in which to rediscover the link between textiles and nature, between dyeing and fibre plants; Il Giardino delle Meraviglie at the Lingotto, a tropical greenhouse with palms, bamboos, camellias and other varieties from other latitudes. Among the most curious and fascinating locations is the Herbarium of the University of Turin.
