Tuscany. In Florence for the Archaeology Nights
From 1 July to 2 August 2026, the ‘Notti dell’Archeologia’ (Archaeology Nights) return to Florence – the festival that brings museums, parks and archaeological sites across Tuscany to life with special evening openings, guided tours, talks with archaeologists, workshops and family activities. The 2026 edition, entitled ‘Archaeology that unites a divided world’, offers a wide-ranging journey through the region’s archaeological heritage, from Prehistory to the Etruscans, from the Roman era to the Middle Ages, with the aim of making knowledge of the past an accessible, participatory and engaging experience. A packed programme of events spread across the whole of Tuscany aims to make the region’s archaeological heritage accessible, engaging and shared, allowing visitors to rediscover the city from a fresh perspective, where the story of the past intertwines with the charm of Florentine summer evenings. The initiative also offers the ideal opportunity to experience Florence in a cultural and evocative way. A strategic starting point for reaching the main cultural sites and taking part in the scheduled events is the Hotel Botticelli in the heart of the city, an elegant historic residence just a stone’s throw from the Duomo. Among the programme’s main events are special evening openings of Florence’s archaeological museums, themed guided tours focusing on the Etruscan and Roman collections, talks with archaeologists and scholars on new research and discoveries, family workshops and educational activities for children, city walks exploring Roman and medieval Florence, lectures and evening events offering cultural insights.
