Dizzying adventures and primeval landscapes in Hawaii

by Luca Bergamin

Kauai, is the largest and northernmost island in Hawaii and boasts the more than deserved nickname of the Garden Island. It has lent its territory to the directors of King Kong, Raiders of the Lost Ark and especially Jurassic Park. The Obama family, Michelle and Barack, know it and frequent it often for the trekking circuits that traverse its emerald-green vegetation valleys, brush against sharp mountain spires and brush against jagged cliffs. In addition to tropical rainforests, waterfalls framed by perennial rainbows: Kauai has been included, not surprisingly, in the must-see collection of the hundred Dream Trips just published by Lonely Planet. Among the most sensational experiences to be had here, kayaking down the Wailua River, snorkelling off Poʻipū Beach, hiking the trails of Kōkeʻe State Park, along with the dizzying zip line adventure above the Kauaʻi Valleys or trekking to Hanakāpīai Falls will be unforgettable.
