Vespa P125X, 1977

Presented at the Milan Motor Show on 10 October 1977, the PX is the longest-lived Vespa and the last product with the original features of Corradino d'Ascanio's idea: steel sheet body, small wheels and front suspension with connecting rods are also on today's Vespas, but the PX still had a two-stroke engine, manual gearbox with knob control and spare wheel. Production lasted until 2017, with two interruptions in the years 1988 to 1994 and 2007 to 2010, exceeding three million units sold. It shuffled the cards because compared to the versions prevailing at the time (50 Special and Primavera 125 with the 'small' frame) the PX returned to the generous dimensions of the previous series and marked a strong change in styling.
