Emilia, stage of the Baroque
A constellation of anniversaries
The journey into the Baroque intertwines, between spring and summer, with a calendar of celebrations touching on history, philosophy and contemporary art. While the Gallerie d'Italia in Milan will open a retrospective at the end of May, Emilia Romagna will celebrate "its" master Arnaldo Pomodoro (born in Morciano di Romagna in 1926) with an itinerary that touches on the "Grande Prua", the funeral monument to Federico Fellini and Giulietta Masina, the Obelisk for Cleopatra in Soliera, and the jewellery kept at the CSAC in Parma, which houses a conspicuous nucleus of Pomodoro's works, comprising 33 sculptures, 21 of which are on display, as well as drawings and jewellery. An absolute must is the Barilla factory in Parma, where the artist's famous Cube welcomes visitors.
