Forlì: the heart of Baroque (and more)
The Forlì exhibition promises to be a watershed event. With no less than 200 masterpieces, it will bring into dialogue the masters of the 17th century - from Bernini to Guercino, Guido Reni to Rubens - with the restlessness and forms of the 20th century, evoking the suggestions of Francis Bacon, Lucio Fontana and Umberto Boccioni. A temporal short-circuit that invites visitors to continue their journey outside the museum halls, towards the domes frescoed by Carlo Cignani in the Duomo, the architecture of the Suffragio Church overlooking Piazza Saffi, with its interiors rich in marble and stuccoes, and towards the Baroque fervour of the Church of San Filippo Neri.
