Emilia, stage of the Baroque
Emilia, stage of the Baroque
If there is an aesthetic capable of fusing the sacred and the profane, artifice and wonder, it is the Baroque. And this year Emilia Romagna is a candidate to become its stage of choice in Europe. It is not just a question of historical heritage, but a choral project that sees the San Domenico Civic Museum in Forlì as its epicentre: here, until 28 June, the exhibition 'Baroque. Il gran teatro delle idee" will kick off a season of rediscovery that will transform the entire region into a widespread museum. From the monumental exhibition in Forlì to the splendours of the Este and Farnese capitals, here is an itinerary along the Via Emilia celebrating the seventeenth century, crossing the centenaries of Arnaldo Pomodoro, Umberto Eco and Silvestro Lega.
