Panoramas, foliage and nature: Autumn experiences in the Alps
In Pila amidst vineyard walks and Alpine villages
Nature, culture and food and wine: these are the three souls of 'Experience Park', a project devised by the Espace de Pila Tourist Consortium that enhances autumn with activities and experiences designed to discover the area with new eyes compared to the classic summer and winter panoramas. The vineyard walks wind their way between Gressan and Jovençan, following part of stage 18 of the Cammino Balteo, touching on medieval villages and strongholds, rural chapels and ancient Romanesque cloisters (such as the Sant'Orso complex, where on some occasions the visits conclude with tastings of typical products). From the Chamolé alpine lake to the Arbolle refuge, on the other hand, there is an itinerary that takes you up to 2500 metres in height to admire the peaks of Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn and Monte Rosa already whitened by the first snow. Other paths lead to alpine pastures still in activity, crossing larch forests and offering the pleasure of artistic installations and panoramic 'Belvedere' benches. And for those who do not suffer from vertigo, hot-air balloon flights are available every morning, taking off from the centre of Aosta to observe from above the colours of the foliage and the geometry of the vineyards suspended between the Alpine giants over 4000 metres.
