Panoramas, foliage and nature: Autumn experiences in the Alps

7/7Weekend

Traditions, memory and taste in Paganella

Colours, scents and flavours that tell of traditions to "enter" into the spirit of an area that in the autumn months becomes the perfect destination for those in search of food and wine experiences in the presence of nature. There are three appointments not to be missed between now and the beginning of November. On 11 and 12 October, the village of Zambana Vecchia goes back to the post-war years with Antiche Terre, an event that combines participants in period clothing, ancient crafts and taverns where you can taste traditional dishes by paying in 'terrini', a special currency created for the occasion. On 25 and 26 October, the Incontri Rotaliani (Rotaliani Meetings) will return to the municipalities of Mezzolombardo, Mezzocorona and San Michele all'Adige: the 2025 edition will feature Teroldego Rotaliano, the symbol of Trentino wine-growing, and will, as always, offer the opportunity to take part in guided tastings in the cellars or author's dinners with local chefs. Finally, more intimate and characteristic is the Sagra della Ciuìga, scheduled from 31 October to 2 November in San Lorenzo Dorsino, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy: for three days, the famous sausage of humble origins born in the 19th century (today a Slow Food Presidium) will be celebrated with traditional music and mountain songs, markets of typical products, dinners based on special menus in the village inns and guided excursions amidst the autumn colours of the woods.
