Since his second inauguration in the White House on 20 January 2025, Donald Trump, together with Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth, has sequentially hit the top echelons of the US armed forces: from the Joint Chiefs of Staff to the Navy and Air Force, to the Pentagon's chief legal officers, military intelligence and the Army Chief of Staff. A repulse that swept through key figures in the chain of command, in several cases without detailed public explanation.
