A new lease of life for mountain huts: here’s where to go even without skis

Alpinn reinterprets the concept of high altitude
The route begins at the summit of Plan de Corones, at 2,275 metres, where Alpinn – Food Space & Restaurant redefines the very concept of a high-altitude stop. Designed by Martino Gamper and driven by chef Norbert Niederkofler’s gastronomic vision, the mountain refuge juts out into the void with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Puster Valley: the furnishings are crafted from locally sourced, reclaimed materials, whilst the menu adheres strictly to the ‘Cook the Mountain’ philosophy, excluding citrus fruits and exotic ingredients to highlight local root vegetables, game and fermented produce.
