Ernest Hemingway's home in Key West

We are in extreme South Florida, at the lowest point of the United States, and this city-island is a favourite destination for outdoor enthusiasts and outdoor holidays for at least three good reasons: its beaches, its crystal-clear waters and its wild nature. And then for a decidedly sui generis attraction near the historic Key West Lighthouse, namely Ernest Hemingway's house-museum, which houses a small colony of cats. Its peculiarity? The common descent from Snow White, the great American writer's cat, and the fact that all its four-legged inhabitants are polydactyls (they have six fingers) and are named after various historical or literary figures. Passing tourists can admire them as they laze about in the custom-built homes built especially for them in the large green park surrounding the colonial-style house.
