An acronym for Columbia Broadcasting System, founded in New York in 1927, it was a pioneer of radio broadcasting and one of the three largest American networks. Among its most famous programmes is 'The Late Show', now hosted by Stephen Colbert. It is part of the Paramount Skydance group.
