Founded in Hollywood in 1912, it was part of the original 'Big Five' of the Golden Age of Studios. In the early days of film history it produced the Rudolph Valentino films, later hits such as 'Psyco', 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' and the 'Godfather' saga. From 2021, it owns the streaming platform Paramount+. In the summer of 2025 it merged with Skydance. Together they failed to win Warner Bros. Discovery.
