Founded in 1923 in Hollywood by the Warner brothers, it is one of the 'Big Five' of the Golden Age of Studios. In its portfolio there are immortal franchises such as those of the D.C. heroes (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman) and the more recent Harry Potter but also Stanley Kubrick's catalogue. In the 1990s it merged with Time to form Time Warner, later taken over in 2018 by telecommunications giant AT&T to form Warner Media. In 2021 it merged with Discovery to form Warner Bros. Discovery.
