Mini Cooper, electric made in China

The only Mini model (brand of the BMW group) impacted by the trade war is the new generation of the Mini Cooper, produced in China in a joint venture with Great Wall Motor on the Spotilight EV platform. It is destined for all markets. Two variants are planned with a range of up to 400 km. Produced in China, the battery-powered Mini Cooper is styled in line with the other models in the BMW group brand's range. The fact that the car is produced in China does not create any kind of prejudice in terms of quality, but now creates commercial problems. From 2026, thanks to an investment of more than €700 million, it will also be produced in Europe and in Oxford in the UK. The intervention of the British government has in fact secured production in Europe.
