From the Jardin du De Russie to the Tiber crossed by speedboat

Welcomed by the green parrots circling the tempting branches of the majestic Cedar of Lebanon, as well as by the cats pampered and cuddled like a cute furry rogue, one penetrates the landscape of pure naturalness and exclusivity in the service of Le Jardin, the restaurant of the De Russie at Rocco Forte Hotel, a veritable orangery whose transparent glass roof is now punctured by the needles fallen from the trees, while the leaves of autumn flower petals tickle it. In this setting of design and Roman antiquities, amidst pools and grotesques, the cuisine with Mediterranean colours and flavours of chef Fulvio Pierangelini truly puts the most refined palate at ease, realising a dream of flavours that will remain in the mind and memories of the senses. From there, one can walk to the floating building that once belonged to the Rari Nantes Roma and then to the Dopolavoro ferroviario to board the wooden motorboat and thus enjoy the silhouette of the bridges over the river from a unique architectural perspective, the pilings of the sports clubs dedicated to the art of rowing, the pliè of the plane trees on the Tiber embankment. One only hears the patter of water cut by the bow of the hull, the notes of a romantic jazz musician, until the sunset paints Castel Gandolfo in cardinal's purple.
