Art, theatre and experiences: Rome is always a discovery
The secret jewels of the Roman Forum with Imago Artis
Upon entering the Church of San Lorenzo de' Speziali in Miranda, one finds oneself surrounded by the faces painted by Pietro da Cortona, Domenichino and Alessandro Fontana, endowed with a bewitching expressiveness, when suddenly the inner door is thrown open, allowing one, as if by magic of architecture and time, to look out onto the stone heart of the Roman Forum, astonishing visitors who were also unprepared for such an apparition. This, in fact, was formerly the base of the temple that Emperor Antoninus Pius had dedicated in 141 AD to his wife Faustina. to his wife Faustina, as shown by the columns that can be seen from the front while sitting on the seats prepared for the occasion by Imago Artis Travel, a tour operator formed by scholars and art historians who know how to excite through exclusive and unique sensorial experiences. Then one descends into the ancient cell of the temple where the Museo dell'Arte Farmaceutica is now located, housing a splendid collection of vases and other ancient pharmacy instruments (there is said to be a ghost who moves them during the night...). A visit to the Oratory of the Gonfalone is equally surprising and spectacular: the one sponsored by Alessandro Farnese, in fact, is a rhapsody of 16th-century Mannerism entrusted to a chorus of some of the most talented artists of the time, including Raffaellino da Reggio, Livio Agresti and, above all, Federico Zuccari.
