Heat pumps in schools and an extension to the private school subsidy scheme

The investment in young people set out in the 2027 budget, championed by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, also extends to schools. After all, she mentioned this herself when she spoke of the need to improve energy efficiency in schools so as to avoid holding A-level exams at temperatures of 35 degrees and above, as happened last summer. The initiative – which is expected to cost around 650 million, funded through the NEC (National Energy Council), just like the measures for universities and hospitals – includes a wide range of measures (from thermal insulation of building envelopes to the installation of heat pumps). Still on the subject of schools, the 1,500-euro voucher for private schools for families with an ISEE of up to 30,000 euros is reported to have been confirmed. This measure is worth 20 million.
