Autumn charm, adventure and colours in Tallinn
Magic under the stars
But Estonian autumn is not just about introspection: it is also about creativity and discovery. With the arrival of shorter days, the famous Black Nights take centre stage. These nights become an enchanted stage for culture. The Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, held every year in November, is the most important in Northern Europe and one of the most important in the world. With more than 200 films on the programme, including features, shorts and animation, the festival turns the cities of Tallinn and Tartu into international film hubs, welcoming directors, actors and fans from all corners of the globe. During this period, Estonian cities come alive with unique night-time experiences: strolls through illuminated parks, candlelit dinners, jazz concerts in historical locations, lantern hikes in the woods and sauna evenings under the starry sky.
