Multiflora Magnolias and The Two Hundred Volumes of Rosmini

Una sorpresa è l’accoglienza che si riceve al Centro Internazionale di Studi Rosminiani ospitato nella palazzina più scenografica di Corso Umberto I, appartenuta anch’essa ai commercianti di tabacco Bolongaro e poi divenuta la culla del sapere ottocentesco grazie all’arrivo dell’abate, filosofo, teologo e soprattutto pensatore illuminato che fu nel corso dell’800 Antonio Rosmini: la biblioteca aperta al pubblico custodisce oltre 200 mila volumi (compresa una collezione di testi di medicina che parte addirittura dal XVI secolo), un tricolore risalente alla seconda guerra di indipendenza punteggiato da macchie ematiche, un ritratto molto sciantoso di Margherita di Savoia habitué di queste stanze. Samuele Francesco Tadini, il direttore, mostra volentieri anche i meandri sotterranei con la ghiacciaia, la prigione tedesca, nonché il giardino delle magnolie multiflora e la Coffee House.
