Six new measures in the 2027 budget, from education to transport
Family / Self-employed: 500 euros a month for childcare and nursery
Up to 500 euros a month to cover the cost of babysitting or nursery places, instead of parental leave. This is the voucher introduced by the draft budget bill, on a trial basis from 2027 to 2029, for self-employed parents registered with INPS (craftsmen, traders, farmers) and for those enrolled in the separate pension scheme. The allowance is claimed at the end of maternity or paternity leave and covers a maximum of three months within the following eleven months. If both parents are self-employed, only one parent is eligible. It does not count towards the ISEE calculation for the universal child allowance. The annual budget is 15 million. It should be noted, however, that for employed mothers – and also for fathers – the budget measures affect leave entitlements, with the number of months paid at 80 per cent rising from three to four.
