Slow tourism among Savoy residences, art and rural experiences

In the Roero, in particular, you can discover the Savoy royal residences through the eyes of the residents with the Royal Community Tours: in Govone, for example, the guided tour of the village begins in the Castle Park, continues with a panoramic view from the rose garden and a stop at the Church of the Spirito Santo before ending at the Royal Castle, the former summer residence of Carlo Felice and a World Heritage Site since 1997. Another destination in the area is Pollenzo, where the Church of San Vittore overlooking Piazza Vittorio Emanuele and the marvellous Agenzia complex, built in 1835 at the behest of Carlo Alberto on the site of the ancient Roman Pollentia as an estate of the House of Savoy, steal the eye. Today it is home to the University of Gastronomic Sciences, the Hotel dell'Agenzia and the Banca del Vino, a wine cellar where 300 selected labels from all the Italian regions are 'housed' (and available for purchase). For those who love traditions and nature, there is instead the opportunity to stroll in the hills among centuries-old chestnut trees, enjoying an immersive experience in the regenerating silence of the woods and the pleasure of a convivial farmhouse snack prepared with local products. For art lovers, finally, the appointment is with the ORMA installations, a project that brings together in a single "platform" five initiatives that bring contemporary art into dialogue with the territory: these include Creativamente Roero, which hosts the exhibition in the municipalities of Govone, San Martino Alfieri, Antignano and Castellinaldo d'Alba.
