Epstein files, how many there are and why they arouse so much interest
Epstein spies? Netanhayu: not for Israel
One part of the files highlights the relationship between Epstein and Steve Bannon, former Trump strategist and central figure in the Maga area.
Emails and messages - reads the Huffpost in the article by Marta Tonti in the article of show frequent contacts between 2018 and 2019, during the period when Bannon was engaged in building a European sovereignist network.
Epstein offered support and suggestions, while Bannon shared political analysis, electoral plans and contacts with members of the European right, including Nigel Farage and British conservative circles.
The files also indicate an attempt at broader coordination to strengthen sovereignist forces on the continent, with references to leaders such as Matteo Salvini and Marine Le Pen, under Bannon's political organisation, The Movement.
Epstein spies?
Reuters writes that no definitive proof has yet been published by a major media outlet that Jeffrey worked for any intelligence service, Mossad, the US or Russia.
In July 2025, CNN addressed the subject of JE's possible espionage activities in this way. Here we introduce a leading player in the Epstein world: Dan Bongino, well-known US conservative political commentator, radio host and far-right podcaster, former Secret Service and NYPD agent. He is known for his pro-Trump stances, criticism of the FBI, and for being appointed Deputy Director of the FBI in 2025, a role from which he resigned in January 2026.
Bongino claimed in 2023 that he had been reliably told that Epstein was an intelligence asset of a Middle Eastern country. Claims deniedby former Israeli Prime Minister 2021-22, Naftali Bennett, who denied that Epstein was an Israeli asset: "The allegation that Jeffrey Epstein somehow worked for Israel, or for Mossad, running a blackmail network, is categorically and totally false," Bennett said.
Today's Press reports that in the October 2020 memo FD-1023 a confidential source says: "Dershowitz* told the US prosecutor that Epstein belonged both to the US intelligence services and tothe allied ones". The text reads: 'The source became convinced that Epstein was a co-opted Mossad agent'.
Netanhayu: Epstein did not work for Israel
JE's close relationship with former Israeli PM Ehud Barak proves that he was not an Israeli agent. This is what Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wrote in X today. "Jeffrey Epstein's unusual close relationship with Ehud Barak does not suggest that Epstein worked for Israel.
It proves the opposite," Netanyahu wrote, asserting that after his defeats at the polls, "Barak has been obsessively trying for years to undermine Israeli democracy by collaborating with the radical anti-Zionist left in attempts to overthrow the elected Israeli government, failing."
The former Israeli Prime Minister's name appears in several of the documents recently released by the US Justice Department on the Epstein case. According to Netanyahu, "Barak's personal fixation has led him to engage in public and behind-the-scenes activities to undermine the government of Israel by supporting mass protest movements, fomenting outrage, and fuelling false media narratives".
Tusk: large-scale honeytrap network of Moscow services
The network of underage girls made available by JE to his high-ranking contacts was an operation by the Russian security services against members of the Western elite, primarily in the United States, a scaled-up version of the honeytrap** for which the KGB was known, stated Polish premier Donald Tusk, citing the opinion of more and more 'commentators and experts' as well as recent tabloid articles.
* Alan Dershowitz (New York, 1 September 1938) is an American lawyer, jurist and columnist who has been a professor at Harvard University Law School since the age of 28.
** A honey trap is an espionage or manipulation tactic that uses romantic or sexual relationships to obtain information, money, influence or to blackmail a 'target'. It is often used in state espionage, private investigations (to expose infidelity), or for criminal activities such as drug trafficking.
