Why are they still talking about it?

Epstein is still talked about mainly for political reasons. JE has been dead for six and a half years but the US public wants to know whether Trump had anything to do with JE's activities and was himself guilty of abuse. There is one email from 2011 - Trump 65 and a second from 2018 (72) in which JE mentions the current US president.

The documents include 4,500 references to Trump, mostly press articles or reports. The Justice Department said it found no credible elements to proceed. Trump reiterated that he had committed no wrongdoing.

The White House referred to a public statement by the Department of Justice, which said that the Friday 30 January 2026 documents "may include false or falsely presented images, documents or videos".
